Mr Knlpfer was our advlsor, and he and Lewls Swartz coped Wltb our jubllant splrlts After bidding the senior class of 1950 farewell, we were shifted to a higher rank that of junlor Thls was an exclting year throughout, the first thrlll came when we received our class P1H5S HGreat Caesar's Ghostu, our class play, gave us a lot of fun and we thought lt was very successful Months before banquet tlme, we were dab- bling in palnt and paper getting ready for the big occaslon May 12 dawned to find the Blg Tent complete and colorful for the fest1v1t1es that evening The circus theme was carried out and balloons, confettl, and gay p1ctures were the rule. We half sorrowfully, half joyfully, bid the seniors of 1951 farewell, for then we assumed the superiority of seniors At the beglnning of the year the class was organ 1Z9d EuD1Ce Golien was elected presldent, Glenn Hoehne, v1ce president, Delrose Pank onin, secretary, Kathleen Buent1ng, treasurer, and Carol Wessell and Mary Ann Petersen as reporters. October 5, we observed our Homecoming For a week before, the seniors toiled on a float for the b1g parade with 1ts butterfly theme, it won the pr1ze Our class is quite proud of the fact that we won the prlze for our floats three years in suc cession Comfrey defeated us 1n an excellent game that n1ght, and at the half the Pankonln was our HOm9COm1Ug queen and Adonna Pohl was the senior class attendant. The seniors have been well represented in band and chorus Several boys part icipated 1n basketball and baseball. We donlt want to forget the flfteen seniors of 52, so we'l1 lnclude a few notes on them alphebetlcally ORVEL BIERMAV is one of our smaller members, although he surprised us all by the way he added those lnches ln his senior year Orvel makes up for 1t, for h1s braln 1S far from small He's a regular smarty, espec ally when lt concerns mathematlcs Frlendly and ready to help lS he, and a famillar slght, when weather permits, 15 Orvel and h1s b1ke. KATHLV'N UENTING is the fubxre nurse of our group. In spite of her dlmples, she attalned a look of qulte some dlgnity as a senior but you should see her blush! The other glrls envy her polse and neatness Kathj's a clarlnetlst for band, slngs in chorus, and plays a n1ce p1ano. ALLFN DUNCAN had a nolsy beg1nn1ng, but due to the soothlng effects of a gentle g1rl, he pol1shed off 1nto a smooth, sedate senior He sings 1n chorus, and swings a neat sax for the band He's a fr1endly, all around n1ce guy and h1s cartoon caric atures are really somethlngl VUNICE GOLIEN is the gal wath the personallty plus, in the class of 1952 She always has a smlle handy but watch out for that nIP1Shn teuperl Uuny has been a cheer leader for f1ve years, beats the drum in band, and s1ngs in chorus She's one of those lucky ones who is equipped w1th a good memory, and she takes no back seat when lt comes to reasonable solutions GLVNN HODiTf furnlshed the v1m, vlgor, and vltalltj throughout our high school years We were sure of a laugh when Glenn was 1U the foreground The class wlll always remember his book reports Band and chorus occupled h1s tlme, and sax was his gift to the band Hi freckles and cowllck are the perfect plcture of boylsh charm. ' ' but 3 field was the scene of pretty girls, and floats that survived the weather. Delrose BERNICE PRINS is our quiet gal She doesn't ever say much, but GLENN HOEHNE furnished the vim, vigor, and vitalit throughout our high school years We were sure of a laugh when G enn was 1 the foreground The class will always remember his book reports Band and chorus occupied his time, and sax was his gift to the band His freckles and cowlick are the perfect picture of boyish charm VERNON JOHNSON, better known as nButch', is a husky guy who buzzes a ound in a flasny Chevy He teases the girls to death, but his heart belongs in Windom Butch is a willing and able helper when the cau e calls for it and he could always add his share of fun HARLLN MLRY is our sportsman He measured time by athletic con tests all through high school and was captain of the basketball team for 1952 He ha the distinction of being the first president the student council, and a very efficient and dignified senior he turned out to be, but oh, what a temper, and can he argue! JACK OBERLE is rotund and happy and always has a joke He too is a mathematician, but he doesn't go for literature and the like A well known sight in Jeffers is Jack and his car He has a sense of humor, but don't call him Jackie DELROSE PANKONIN is our jack of all trades and she does every thing systematically She stands close to the ceiling, loves music and little kids Trumpet is her offering for band, and she also sings in chorus She's at the head of the class when it comes to a good, healthy argument, so don't challenge her! MARY ANN PETLRSEN is our artist Her drawing is marvelous, and and added to that, she's a mimic She can make anybody laugh! Mary plays the clarinet, is a fine soprano, and is secretary of our newly ADONNA POHL's interests centered around home life since she's one of the lucky girls who has been claimed for matrimony She always has her school work done on time, and she's just as handy in the kitchen She's got a cute giggle and asks questions backwards she keeps her ears since by her third mapped out for her endears her to her DARRELL iHUBEE has a keen muscle, open She leaned towards the 'home economic' side finger, left hand, you see that her future is all Hex happy disposition and nice sense of humor friends keeps us posted on boxing, his one true love H and a sharp wave that remained the same through the years He always has a look on his face that says he's disgusted with life, but don't let him fool you! CHARLES SCHNEIDhR, whom we all know as 'Chuck', is also a sports man and a mathematician he's the proud possessor get things done If the He's a friendly guy, ann CAROL WESSLLL is our She's easygoing, always smiling, she walks, or plays the clarinet fox five years, is a band membe1 You can't catch him in either field, and of a lazy smile When Chuck's around, you class had a project, he'd put us to work he goes for turtlenecks Qsweaters, that is slowpoke, lwe refer to her slow drawlj talks slowly, but speeds up when She has been an active cheerleader and sings in the chorus She has her in her career as a grade teacher, a yen for music, which will help and why not call her Boop? We're looking forward to our senior class play, the junior senior banquet, and then finally graduation As we ponder over the memories of our high school career, we cannot but recall the success and achievements mixed too, with fun and frolic Successful because of the sympathetic aid of our instruc tors, and because each person attained his definite goal The sweet memories of those days, though lost to sight, will always remain s eadfast in our minds 7 . i n ' o e O O :' y o I s ' . . ,, - I X 0 . s ' of O C - O O I Q C 4' ' ' . organized student council.
