The theme of this year's JAYHAWK might well be Moments to Remember. On the following pages are recorded many nostalgic memories of a wonderful year. As the doors, that opened wide last September, close behind us, they lock in our hearts forever many treasured memories. This year J.S.H.S., for the first time in its history, welcomed a foreign exchange student. Another first was the changing of the class ring design, breaking the old tradition. In the Autumn all eyes were focused on the football season. As the Varsity Queen reigned over a rain drenched stadium, the Jayhawks brought the Foothills conference trophy, home to stay. Fall wore into winter, and class parties, weekend dances, school projects, and reports, kept everyone very busy. Christ- mas vacation brought the Formal, and the selection of the Reign Dear Queen. With the new year came many resolutions to work much harder. Soon basketball season arrived, providing the student body with many thrilling evenings. Spring brought the prom. Can we ever forget the excitement of planning and decorating for These Precious Moments? Senior day marked the end of carefree high school days for the class of '64, and brought the promise of the future to the underclassmen. Now the seniors, well prepared for the future, become graduates of J.S.H.S. We, the staff, hope that this The 1964 JAYHAWK , will serve as an everlasting reminder of the memories that we've shared at Jeannette High. 2
