The efficient, hard working Administration of our school district sees that each student receives a good education. This Administration is headed by Henry W. Pharaoh, the Superintendent of our school district. The responsibilities of his office are great for he directs the education of all of the youth of Jeannette. The superintendent serves as a link between the school board and staff members as well as between the school and the public. He must also prepare the school annual budget and administer to the functioning of the budget, supervise the professional and non-professional staff and recommend personnel to be hired by the school board. The responsibilities and duties of our principal. Francis W. Matika, are also large in number. For in addition to preparing a schedule for the students and faculty, he must direct the extra-curricular activities and assembly programs, hold fire drills, conduct teachers meetings, have parent conferences and pupil counseling, make classroom visitations, supervise testing programs, and carry out hundreds of very essential duties which must be discharged to have a good school year. Our Superintendent, Principal, Vocational Directors and Board of Education, all work hard to insure the students of Jeannette Senior High a good, well-rounded education. The knowledge which J.S.H.S. offers us, helps us to reach our goals and fulfill our ambitions. A well-rounded College Preparatory course is offered to individuals who wish to further their education in college and study in a specific field. The Commercial Department turns out many fine secretaries and accountants. The high school also offers courses in the Homemaking Department, Beauty Culture Department, and the various shops to serve as vocational training for those interested in these fields. All students who attend Jeannette Senior High School are given the opportunity to obtain knowledge. It is our challenge and responsibility to use and expand this knowledge to benefit ourselves and our community
