It was through this that he was nicknamed Annette Kellerman. The writer himself, one day in imitating Ump Caruso, dived head foremost into a mudback, much to the amusement of the rest of the crowd. And so it went with scarcely an idle moment during the entire two weeks. Between practices the fellows were busy reading, playing the victrola, playing cards, pitching horseshoes, or even hunting snakes with Johnnie McNally and his gang. In the even'ngs most of the fellows would go for hikes and more than one bunch came back to camp drenched to the skin as a result of having been caught in one of the frequent ra ns we had while at camp Speakm of horseshoes a tournament was arranged which was much en Joyed The camp was dlvldet. nto two sides halfbacks and drawbacks The halfbacks won out and tae drawbacks had to gather wood for the big corn roast on Saturday n1 ht Occasionally we had a golf tournament the equip ment of which consisted of homemade clubs and a ten cent baseball When Sunday came we l'ad a great number of v1s1tors who were indeed welcome as the boys were fflao ro sec omeone from home We had no prac tice that day and t e fellows were iree to do as they pleased except tnose poor unfortunates asslgned to kitchen police duty of which I was one During the second week setti d down to a long hard series of scrxm mages and so on beoan to look llKC a good football club Tre week passed quickly and when Fr day came tae day set for breaking camp we were all sorry to leave as everyone a reed th1t it was the best football camp Jeannette had ever had fhe Footb all Schedule Leo Zaleski Mt Pleasant Youngwood Union High Vanderori Altoona Scottdale Indiana Lan ley Norw1n Lincoln 2 lux ex ll QPV I .g A I, .
