A magic word--and for J. H. S. Students the ceremony has all the pomp and elegence of a presidential election. Those who attended will long remember the beauty and splendor of the coronation under the colored lights, the hard fought football game ending in victory and the Homecoming Dance, first in Jay's history, rounding out the events of the evening. The parade at 2 P. M. with the twelve floats made by the Seniors for business men of Jay enriched the thrills of the event. All these and the Alumni Coffee made this one of the finest Homecomings in years. Remember Seniors? the student mixers all sponsored by our group throughout the year? The Backwards Party, the Halloween Mixer, and the Hayseed Get-together where everyone dressed in keeping with the theme enllvening the years social activities! That September day our rings arrived will remain vivid in our memory, The money that had to be collected before we could get our rings out of the post office made us impa- tient with C, O. D.'s. How we polished and shined and combed and fixed for those senior pictures made in November and how anxiously we awaited the final shipment that at long last arrived just in time to make our last minute Christmas Packages. We started from Jay at 5 a.m. on a school bus, and after try- ing to wake J. Scott Gibbs for some time, we finally went on without him. He caught a bus and met us at the Historical Building that afternoon. We shall remember every detail of the governor's conference room, The Blue Room and the trip through the Historical Building that ended far too soon. All the snapshots we took and later exchanged on this Big Trip will serve to keep the memory vivid. Hobo Day, a Senior Privilege, added to the events of this nOur Year.n Senior Day and Senior week will remain in the hearts of all as treasured memories. Who can forget the Junior-Senior Prom? Soft lights, sweet music, and pretty girls-a com- bination that blended well with the setting the Juniors strived so hard to obtain. Last and not least the Senior play,nHillbilly Weddinn-hard work and an excellent cast made this one of the better performances of the year. We bring down the curtain on our school days at Jay High School. May the many happy times we have had here become the most treasured spot in our garden of memories, Sturges, Violet This page sponsored by REARDON'S GENERAL STORE, Jay
