CGMI G hits a week or more of preparations, Homecoming festivities officially began on Thursdar, October 9, at E p. m. with the Coronation Ol tne King and Queen. Before a crowded auditoruim, Barbara Detlerk, queen of 191111, crowned Carole Thielman Queen, and Verland Johnson, Fling of l9l,E, crowned dick Jecton Kin-' of l9L7-LS. Beth Jurg and Milton ofeman were attendents. The Hoyalty, chosen by student election, gave responses. After the ccronation, a pep fest was held around 1 huge bonfire at the athletic field. Pep talks given by the football players and coach Jere introduced by the checrleai rs. n snake dance was formed, which ended in another pep fest wown town. Frida: afternoon brought a colorful parade through gain Street. It included floats from th' various grades, classes, business places, and a moyalty float. Prizes were given for the best floats and windows decorated. At h:3O a tea was held in the home Economics room for the alumni. The Homecoming football game ended with the Howard Tigers victorious, defeating Jasper with a score of l9-9. The high light of the festivities was the Homecoming dance in tho gym.
