OUR ADMINISTRATION They Set Policy for School Managing the affairs of Jasper High School is the duty of Principal Claude Miller and his faculty of twenty-three, Mr. Bernard Gallagher, the Superinten- dent of City Schools, and the three-member School Board, composed of Mr. Claude Gramelspacher, Mr. O. Leo Beckman, and Mr. Casper Elliott. They must all work together for the benefit of the student and the betterment of the school. It is the responsibility of these people to see that there is a direct faculty-student relationship. Mr. Miller keeps a complete record of each student, conducts teachers' meetings, and supervises student organizations and activities. He and other members of the faculty also sponsor many extracurricular student functions. Mr. Gallagher and the School Board have many ad- ministrative oftices to attend. They select teachers, approve all school expenditures, provide all the nec- essary equipment forthe school, and compile an annual budget and financial report. Last year the board pur- chased property for a new elementary school. Construc- tion on the new building in the southwest part of Jasper is now well under way, lt has been estimated that the school will be ready for use by next fall.
