As everyone says, Boys will be boys. But sometimes when boys are too like boys, they end up waiting nervously outside Mr, Mil- ler's office where they have been unexpectedly called for a little conference. Usually the offense is minor, but it still requires that fearful trip to the office where Mr. Miller waits behind that forebod- ing closed door. No matter how many times you have been there before, when you are told to go to the office with out being given any reason, you shiver slightly in your boots. Perhaps the most typical scene in a day in the life of our school is the hall between classes. And certainly the most characteristic feature of this scene is the line at the water fountain. The water foun- tain is always rushed, no matter what the season. There is always the fellow who tries to cut in ahead of the line, the girl who tries to break through the line in her hurry to get to her next class, and all the others who flock around the water fountain to make plans, get assignments, or pass on gossip.

Most of us make it to our first period class with time to spare, Some of us iust beat the buzzer and collapse thankfully into our seats, hutting and putting. But it seems that an unlucky few never quite make it. Mr, Miller, here l come. The interruptions settled, the teacher sur- veys his class. First he sees the sleepy-head. He stays up late studying. Next he sees the backrow gossips. Never get talked out. Then there is the eager-beaver. She knows the an- swer. Which one are you? Homeroom period follows. Usually after the bulletin has been read we begin chatting with our neighbors. But one day a month not a sound is heard during the whole home- room period. You guessed it! Comets have been sold again!
