The problems of mankind seemed closer and more important to us when we were given the op- portunity to understand them in the classroom. We studied and analyzed the problems that the earliest civilizations overcame. We studied the many wars fought by our ancestors so that the world might be safe and secure for us and our posterity. Our course in government taught us how our government oper- ates today and showed the ways to overcome cor- ruption in politics. C3 flfi D Qessu e ,. Through our ,A w math courses we trained our minds to solve our problems scientifically and logically. Our advanced Lv ' courses helped to prepare the students for the more aj'i: difficult courses in college. We learned to put these subjects to work in our daily lives.

We studied both the finer arts and the practical things of life. Our curriculum prepared us for college and professional careers and for immediate jobs as stenographer and day laborers. To learn to live with others in church, at play, and at work was our goal. We prepared ourselves to serve our school, our community, and our nation. We looked toward the future with enlightened minds and a willingness to use our knowledge. -7..

Through our wider knowledge of the llnglish language, we gained rt better understanding of our other subjects. In literature we learned to appreciate the prose and poetry written by our nmny talented authors.
