cut TiJitt cutcC t7e t inie tt We, The Senior Class of nineteen hundred fifty-four of Jasper High School, are aware of the fact that our time as students here is very short, and we think it wise to make our last will and rid ourselves of all personal properties that we have collected in the past four years. We, The Senior Class, being supposedly sound in mind and in body, do hereby make and publish this will and testament. Article 1 To our Alma Mater we leave our sincere loyalty and trust. Article II To the Juniors we leave our Senior privileges and a telescope with which to find them. Article III To the Sophomores we leave all our luck and happiness. Article IV To the Freshmen we leave the hope that they all graduate. Article V We bequeath to the following individuals; I, Thelma Cleo Williams, leaves my freckles to Elizabeth Richardson. I, Peggy Joyce Adams, leave some of my many beaus to Louise Duncan. I, Ruth Banks, will my ability to get up late and to eat breakfast on the School Bus to anyone who can fill my shoes. I. Frances Atkinson, leave my quiet manner to Helen Daugherty. I, Dixie Small, will my freeness of blushing to Marie Register. I, Charles Conway, leave Vanceboro to Dan Sutton in hopes he hooks 30 points next year. I, JoAnn DeBruhl, will my friendly ways to Katherine Richardson. I, Clyde Daugherty, leave my easy-going manner and ability to get along with people to Johnnie Dail. I, Caroline Ipock, will my love of Jazz Music to Peaches. I, Wiley Moore, leave my love for Bookkeeping to any boy who is crazy enough to take it. I, Helen Marshburn, will my technique to swing and sing to Nancy Ipock. I, Frank Hosteller, leave my determination to graduate to Jimmie Howell. I, Frances Aldridge, will my cute little smile to Jean French. I. Howard Mills, leave my desire to grow tall to Bobby Ipock. I, Erma Ward, will my ability to get married and finish school to Alice Faye Howell. I, Clare Joyce Ipock, leave my skill to stay home and pass to Carol Ipock. I, Eunice Dail, leave my high school memories to Kay Wetherington. I, Lynette Adams, will my stingy ways to Lola Dawson. I, Donald Hodnott, leave my five feet, twos to Bobby Hodnott. LOCKSLEY HALL When I dipt into die future Far as human eye could see I saw the vision of the world And all the wonder that would be. As prophet for the class of 54, I, like Tennyson, dipt into the future and visioned what the members of our class would be in years to come. I found that— JoAnn DeBruhl is now teaching the third grade in New Bern School, while her husband, Charles Conway, is keeping the highways safe. Mary J. Stevenson, having achieved her life's ambition to be a D R E, is scattering good cheer and sunshine wherever she goes. Donald Hodnett, professor at State College, having so much work to do has hired Lynette Adams as his private secretary. Helen Marshburn, a regular nurse at John Hopkins' Hospital, still hasn’t found a recipe for gaining weight. Frances Atkinson seems to be very happy as receptionist for Dr. Frank Hosteller, the world famous dentist. Erma Ward never has had much trouble keeping pretty, but now she is running Ward's Beauty Parlor and keeping others attractive. Cleo Williams, our class's famous actress, is now playing the leading role in the latest movie on Broadway. Who ever thought she could do it? Frances Aldridge is now working in a T. V. shop. Since she thought it was cheaper to raise them by the dozen, I guess the money comes in handy. Wiley Moore has finally made a hit with the girls, and is happily married to Miss America of 1955. Go to it boy! Well, Howard Mills has finally decided to settle down to a peaceful life of farm- ing. I hear that he has one of the largest dairy farms in the state. Clara Ipock has decided to play the field for a while yet. I guess she can afford to with that Cadillac convertible she drives! My little boy came home from school the other day raving about his new teacher. It was none other than Ruth Banks. T. V. has just introduced a new star. I was surprised to find out that she was my classmate, Eunice Dail. It seems that she is very successful. Dixie Small is a waitress and proprietor in the Eat and Run restaurant down the street, Dixie's fried chicken is extremely popular, especially with the teen-agers. What do you know? Peggie Adams has settled down with the one and only boy. In high school she never could decide which one she liked best. After taking orders from Uncle Sam for 4 years, Clyde Daugherty decided that he preferred farming as an occupation. I hear that his farm is so large that a map is furnisned at the entrance. Yes, I had seen all the wonder that would be for our Senior Class of 1954. Caroline Ipock Prophet
