The Jasper Basketball team of 1953-Sh was the finest produced by the school in years. The years record,o:f.' 22 wins and 8 1osses,was among the best compiled in this ar The team was runner up in the Sub-Regional Tournament and advanced to the Regional Springfieldmhere they were defeated by Wheaton who won the Tournament. The entire trav ing squad was made up of Juniors and Seniors who have played from 1 to 3 years of bask ball for Jasper High. The Jasper A team averaged 61.7 points per game while holding the opposition 50.5. For the season, the Eagles scored 1605 points compared to 1315 for the oppositi The future looks bright for another good team next year by the showing made in Miller Preview Tournament by the returning players. They won third place. Graduates f the 1953-511 team are: Dean Cloud, Herbert Crisler, LeRoy Mitchell, Valgene Hart, and H ard Pettyjohn.

This was a rebuilding year for the B team and it was composed of Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors. While the record is not an outstanding one, all the boys gained a great deal of valuable experience and we hope that they will greatly strengthen next year's A team.
