When school began in September, the administration and students welcomed five new teachers james Henderson, Candace Taft, Arlouene VanHorn, Esther Ritter, and Harry Andre to the school. Their addition has been enjoyed by all. Remodeling and classroom improvements have been made in the high school this year. New laboratory equipment was added to the science department and the library received a welcome refinishing. Parent-Teacher conferences were again held to provide an opportunity for teachers and parents to discuss students' progress. Scholastically the Class of 1970 was pleased to have a Letter of Commendation awarded to David Cole for his performance on the National Merit Scholarship Qualify- ing Test. Also jasper Central was proud to have four seniors awarded State Regents Scholarships: David Cole, Dale johnson, Belva O'Dell, and William VanSkiver. Two alternate positions were awarded to Sue Cornell and Donald Perham. This certainly was a wonderful accomplishment for the students, their parents and the school. The year of 1969 and 1970 has been a year of great change and improvement in the world and the scholastic and individual achievements made this year at jasper Central School are a small, but important part of it. 10
