A child, entering elementary school for the first time, finds that a new world has been opened to him and all his friends. Through these seven years, he obtains new ideas, develops new hobbies and interests, and increases his knowledge. As he progresses, he and his parents save papers, drawings, and handicraft as a record of his achievement as well as for sentimental reasons. In one such collection, we found a book of poems, written and compiled by the fifth grade of Jarratt High School in the school year 1956-57. The completed work was entitled “Our Poems” and each selection from it, presented here, was written by a senior of 1964. These gems of literature are written here exactly as they were written in the book, errors included.
