The stars began to twinkle and glow! I concentrated really hard and it seemed as if the stars began to reveal something. The first group of stars to appear reveals, some familiar faces to me. One is Clytis Matthews, a registered nurse who is busy at work, in a laboratory, making molded bread in a dark closet, and legitimately breaking eggs for polio culture. The next star that I see holds an important building which shows the governor and his private secretary, Edna Myrick. How does she do it? Secretary and housewife! A large star shines brightly in the sky. It has to be a big one because it holds a supermarket owned by Jimmie Woodruff, who is kept busy dashing up and down highway 4301 checking cash regis- ters and depositing money in the bank. Gosh, there's a group of stars--no not a group of stars but a group of all stars , and I see that Alice Williams has taken Mrs. Saunders' place as coach. Give the girls a workout, Alice! Whats' this--a real galaxy of Galaxies! ! They are, of course, of the very latest design done by the famous Ruth Marks Temple who is also the vice-president of the Ford Foundation of America. Now we see three starry-eyed 59-ers beaming with happiness. Ben 0wen's face appears as owner of a very successful plantation. As I see it, he is still very much interested in Barnes, Another star reveals the face of Bertie Ricketts, but it is not by itself. Instead, there are William, little Billy, and his twin sister. Bertie seemsto be very happy as an Airman's wife though. Another happy home-loving star shows a certain boy taking advantage of the marriage law in South Carolina and now has as his happy wife, Joan McKenzie. What now! Shooting stars ? No, not exactly. I should have realized that those were the lights on the large TWA jet plane with none otherthan BillyWillis and Wayne Poarch at the controls. My, but what an improvement over those Piper Cubs! The new J arratt landing strip is so convenient, too. Who could the distinguished passenger be! What do you know ? Minnie Sue Mozingo, who is now the Commander of Atomic Power for the Navy. Gosh, time to go inside! But, wasn't it fun to see the class of '59 prophesied ? I wonder, how much truth there is in this prophecy ? I2 LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We the Seniors of JHS with deep appreciation for the past, and bright hopes for the future do hereby declare this our last will and testament. To Joan we leave her favorite dance partner Lenny, and her favorite song to dance to, BUTTERFLY . To Doris we leave a basketball that never misses the goal! To Carol we leave a recording of Willie and the Hand Jive , and some Beechies in the red package to chew in time to the music. To Marywe leave position as basketball manager next year. To John we leave enough home permanents to last his Senior year. To Ernie we leave a free bus ticket to the Casbah for cham- paigne and caviar. To Janet we leave transportation to Club 301 every week. To Millie we leave a recording of the St. Louis Blues. To Patricia we leave a bottle of freckle remover. To Shelia we leave a pair of Bobby -socks. To Linda we leave a set of Buck Teeth. To Elaine we leave permission to buy all our bus tickets. To Bobby we leave a desk with a substantial top. To Jerry we leave all the JOY in the world. To Sandra we leave position as cook in the Chuck wagon gang. To Billy we leave a credit in Trig. so he can graduate next year. To Layton we leave a new crew of girls to hug. To Mrs. Bach and Mrs. Richardson we leave Grandma's Cookbook to cook five new menus for the coming year. To Mr. Mayes we leave a No Smoking sign to hang on the basketball goal. To Mrs. Saunders we leave two guards to take the place of Alice and Ruth Marks. To Mrs. Burruss we leave permission to stay at home on Halloween. To Mrs. Brown we leave a convertible with a built in type- writer. To Mr. Owen we leave apiece of moldy bread, a microscope and a Toady Frog . To Harvey we leave a new bus with a 50 year guarantee that it will never break down. To our Dear Alma Mater we leave our love, devotion and our ever-lasting admiration for putting up with us for twelve years. 13 1 3 I s n . , M M Mary Emorv Carol Good Joan Gordon THE.HIlOR Robert Gordon Janet Harrell Doris Harrison I4 L is TQ?-A Sandra Holbert Patricia Richardson Linda Shields C L A S S Ernie Simmons Mildred Starke Sheila Woodruff John Wray 15 v , X SOPHOMORE 31, Ffa- Q: Q ,M 'ff 7 4, 41 V . 1 r , x x 'N -' iw H . , ,,ff.,:' te.-, L.
