Some recalled bring pleasure and joyg some pain, sorrow, or regret5 some are difficult to recall unless some- thing prods the memory or an event calls it back to recollection. As days pass into years, we hope this record of the year 1966, compiled for your enjoyment by the Lancer staff, will prove to be for you a treasure of pleasure Whenever opened. Though we worked hard to compose this yearbook of memories, nevertheless, our associa- tions in this effort were enjoyable, and we ourselves found pleasure in our labors. lt shall be a year we shall recall happily and hope it will be such a one for you. ADMINISTRATION :Xxx , e J DR. DON YOUNGLUND Mr. Frazer returns to Jardine, and Luider his capable leadership we shall continue to rise as one of the finest junior high schools in Wichita. We Welcome him and are con- fident we can rely on him to provide an atmosphere of learning second to none-- education par excellence. MR. GEORGE H. SHEPHERD if L W Mr. tauber found the transition from the classroom to acting f vice-principal an interesting one. As a mathematician he was tops--as a vice principal he met the challenge and emerged the victor. 4 Dr. Younglund, though with us for only a brief time, left the imprint of his philos- ophy and personality on us all, and it has become an integral, living part of the con- sciousness of the teachers and the students of Jardine. We wish him Well and the very best, which he so richly merits, in his new ca- pacity. MR. PAUL FRAZER A Well -run school must have a person who can keep its machinery smoothly running with little evidence of the labors involved. What would we do without our Mr. Shepherd to keep his finger on the pulse of Jardine, and keep the patient alive and vital? What on earth would we do without our able mentor? As an assistant adminis- trator, he can walk with the best and cast a mighty tall shadow as he goes. MR. JAMES W. STAUBER
