DECA -Ax Deca Club seems to be keeping the of- ficers Ronnie, Janet, Jackie, and Dee Maris a happy group. The J.l-l.S. chapter of the Distributive Education Clubs of America is comprised of thirty members. Only students taking the Retail Merchandising and Trade Courses are eligible for membership. Deca Club representatives attended the state convention. The club plans its yearly program in the areas of social, civic, benevolent, fund raising and pro- fessional activities. Miss Mabel Hartje and Mr. Orville LeMay are the co- advisors. For the year 1958-59 Janet Harstad is president, Dee Maris Annis, vice president, Jackie Stroh, secretary, Ronnie Lund, treasurer, Pat Niess, points manager, Delores Gall, reporter, Mardee May, parliamentariang and Marie Stickler, historian. SECOND SEMESTER STUDENT COUNCIL First semester student council had a fewer number of delegates than ever before Because of the increasing number of home- rooms it was decided to have only one stu- dent elected from each homeroom rather than the usual two. Even with decreased membership it was soon evident that the student council could be just as effective. The main activities of the student council consisted of planning and directing I-Day, ushering at basketball games, conducting pep meetings, promoting a clothing drive, presenting the letter day program, and President Bob Dugan and Secretary Joanie Erickson compare notes as Vice-President Bruce Vongergecst looks on.
