SPEECH Several seniors journeyed to Bismarck with speech advisor, Miss Bernice Shearer, to take part in the Speech Festival held there April 17. They gave interpretive readings which included prose, poetry, and speeches. The judging of the students was based on suitability, interpretation, clarity, tone of voice, and poise. PLAYMAKER9 To be or not to be, that is the question, and to give vent to their dramatic abilities a group of students are active in the Joseph Jefferson Play- makers. This year's presentations included Stranger in the Night, a three act play given last November, Amahl and the Night Visitors, a Christmas story, and Antic Spring given at the Speech Festival held at Bismarck April 17. Diane Berry was elected president for the 1958-59 season, Susan Black was vice-president and Dianne Peterson was secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Elfriede Anderson very ably directed the playmakers. The group this year consisted of thirty-seven members, an increase over past years. They met on Monday evenings throughout the school year.
