Recenlly 'lhe Board has made several imporlanl de- cisions regarding an expansion program for Jamesrown High School. They supervised remodeling of The cale- leria, in which increased sealing space now enables more sludenls lo eal' lunch al once, and 'lo ear in more com- lorrable surroundings. Also, as a parr of lhe year's busi- ness agenda, rhey have approved archileclural plans for a large building aoldilion, on which conslrucrion be- gins lhis spring. Dr. Harold O'Neal, Superinlendenr of Schools, joined rhe Jameslown school syslem in I963. A nalive Texan, he received Bachelors' and lvlaslrers' Degrees from Texas Chrislian Universily. and his docrorare from lndiana Uni- versily. Dr. C'Neal oversees school policy in all I3 local schools. He is assisled by Berl W. Furman, coordinalor of finances, Roberl K. Concerned closely wilh all lhe mallers involved in managing our high school are lhree hard-working. duly- minded men-our adminislralors. Days lor lhem are long and rarely is a momenl lell open lor lhem lo relax. 'Their lasks are many: lheir ways ol dealing wilh lhem always wise. Principal Meade Anderson lakes overall charge in mallers ol school policy. He seeks conslanlly lo see J.l-l.S. curriculum and aclivilies expand, and hopes lhe school always will grow more diversified in whal il ollers, bcilh lo sludenls and lo prospeclive leachers. Ernesl Levin is a very busy assislanl principal. Each day he spends lime in every corner ol lhe building as a supervisor ol such varied ilems as lhe caleleria, audi- lorium evenls, and evening evenls. To add lo his already crowded schedule, Mr. Levin was called in February lo Washinglon where he was a member ol a governmenl commillee on educalion and wellare. Rolland Tall, Jameslown l-ligh's olher assislanl princi- pal. handles his work lrom lhe school allendance ollice. In charge of all discipline and allendance queslions, Mr. Tall linds his a hard job loul one which is salislying when he .can help someone. Olher dulies, such as selling up lhe June exam schedule, keep him occupied every hour ol lhe day.
