The jimmies started their second postwar season with only six returning lettermen, but with a group of candidates who gave promise of a strong team. Most of the men were returning servicemen who had played little or no football for three to four years. Of a seven game schedule, they won two games, tied one and lost four. ,In the first encounter the Jimmies tied a strong Minot team. We scored once in the second quarter and once in the fourth, and Minot twice in the third frame. The Minot team went on later to win the conference. Barnard Schwartz Stuckenbruch i , Against Hamline the Jirnmies encountered a team with a big, hard-charging line and a fast, shifty backfield whose reverses and double reverses completely fooled the Cassell men. Hamline scored in each quarter amassing 26 points to 0. In the second conference game, the jimmies ran on to an inspired Valley City team who crushed Cassell's men 19 to 0. Valley City taking advantage of very poor playing on the part of the jimmies scored all 19 in the first half. In the second half the jimmies got within the ten yard line four times but lacked the punch to win. The annual Homecoming game brought the Jimmies up against a strong Wahpeton team. It was jamestownls game all the way but they again lacked the final punch to score. The Jlimmies piled up fifteen First downs to Wahpeton's five, but late in the fourth quarter a beautiful sixty-yard pass scorecl for the Wops, giving them the game 7 to O. At Ellendale's Homecoming the .Iimmies scored their first victory, defeating a strong Dusty team 6 to 0. A pass from Eclcroth to Carlson scored in the First quarter. The Jimmies dominated the rest of the game but couldn't take advantage of good scoring opportunities. ir.
