Hoon GARDNER RosE MARY Mnz BETTY JEAN Mum GAMMA SIGMA Gamma Sigma, organized in November of 1941, by Phi Beta Kappa members of the Jamestown area, has as its purpose the encouragement of scholastic attainment. Receiving recognition for such achievement this year were live seniors: Hood Gardner, Rose Matz, Betty Muir, Herbert Mutschler, and John Parker. Requirements for membership include a better than B average with not more than ten per cent of the senior class being chosen. From time to time alumni who have won distinction since their graduation will be admitted. Those selected this year were: Rev. Howard Stimmel '30, White River Junction, Vt., Anne Buck Walters '15, Pasadena, Calif., Karl Dittmer '37, U. of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado, Kenneth Kurtz '29, Head of English Department, Occidental College, Los Angeles, Calif. Dr. Bell and Mrs. Ross Miller, Phi Beta Kappas, were taken into membership in Gamma Sigma this year. Officers of the society this year are: President, William Westleyg Secretary-Treasurer, L.
