The Alumni registered, the Freshmen beat the Sophomores in the Tug-o-War, and Mr. Orlady crowned Elizabeth Robertson Queen of the May in a chapel service that was the epitome of all lovely services. Attended by Princesses King, Fiegel, Condit and Hartley, Elizabeth was gracious and regal, a queenly queen. The Homecoming Victory Parade wound from the Stadium around town and back to the Stadium, and Sigma Tau Delta toolc home the money for the first prize in floats. The Saturday of the gala week-end worked up to the Naughty Nineties Revue, which, due to harvesting et al, went on, yea, half dressed, but tremendous, yea tremendous. Because of the war fewer came home than in past years, but the spirit prevailed, and that was what counted. Gradually, as the weelc-end died, the homecomers actually went home, the crown was laid away for another year, the team settled down to hard worlc, and eventually even the gay nineties fell back exhausted. But why not? Who didn't? . And Rothstein had done such a flawless job on the whole thing, had kept peace so beautifully, and had presented to Homecomers such a completely resplendent Homecoming, that chroniclers near and far recorded the whole thing as The Rothstein Spectacle , and sat back satisfied, waiting for 1943.
