Img A powerful Jimmie track team concluded another successful season by retaining the ND IAC Conference crown. This squad of Jimmie tracksters proved to be one of the most well-balanced teams in recent Jimmie history. Led by Captain A1 Graves, the J-men participated in four meets and two relays, winning three of the four meets,- and placing second in the other. In the hrst meet of the year the Jimmies narrowly eked out a win over Ellendale and Aberdeen in a triangular meet by gathering 711.6 points to Ellendale's 67 and Aberdeen's 42116. In a well represented meet at Aberdeen the Jimmies found tougher competition and tallied only a fourth place in both the one-half and one mile relay. At Moorhead in their annual relays the orange and black men found victory in the 440 yard relay and placed second in the one-half and the one mile relay. A third place in the sprint medley ended the honors which the Jimmies won in this meet. The annual North Dakota State meet was held in Jamestown on May 9. A powerful aggregation from Ellendale gathered 49 points, while the Jimmies found themselves in second place with a total of 351k points. At Aberdeen in a pentangular meet the Jamestown men compiled a total of 51 points to best their rivals for top honors. On May 22 and 23 the Cassellmen finished their season by winning the Conference title in a meet held in Taylor Stadium. The Jimmies, with a grand total of 113 points can give credit for their win to the excellent work of every member of the squad. Ellendale placed second with 75 points, Valley City captured third with 39, and Mayville, Nlinot and Wahpeton rounded out the scoring by gaining 30, 1554: and 516 points respectively. One record was broken at this meet. Ashley Thomburg leaped to a new mark in the high jump, clearing the bar at six feet three and one-quarter inches, bettering the old mark of six feet two and three-eighths' Captain-elect Kanga:
