One of its chief aims is to help the student develop his own creative powers. The other is to introduce him to the broad subject of art history and appreciation, which is based on the textbook and is culminated in a tour of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D. C. The Art Club assisted other departments and organiza- tions many times during the school year. Making posters that publicized school functions, Christmas decorations, and helping to decorate the gymnasium for the Prom were only a few of the club's activities.
