Summer Fun Riley students participated in many different activities this summer. The Firefly Festival always attracts Riley thespians and musicians Being a chorus member in Annie Get Your Gun helped me gain experience in acting and dancing, stated senior Paige Laderer. The 4-H fair is a popular place to be during the summer. It ' s a great place to see all your friends from school, says junior Melanie Freitag. Hoping For Good Times When the Riley swimmers started the summer season, they hoped to have a successful summer and hoped to Improve their times, but more than that they hoped for a suc- cessful swim season at Riley. Riley swimmers competed for dif- ferent teams and against other Riley swimmers. Joe Koch ' 90 received 6th place in the M.A.P.S.C. finals at Northwood high school. Joe added, During the race I feared not to place in the top 10. About the same time at the Y.M.C.A. swimming and diving Championship, Steve Wosick ' 90 broke the 400 i.M. record with his 1st place victory with the time of 4:51.95. Wosick said, I feared that I would die in the race! Wosick also won the 800 freestyle. He help re- ceive 3rd place in the 800 free relay with John Cesh ' 88, Karl Peterson ' 88 and Clark Hoover ' 90.
