1 1 e ' re still having fun We ' re still the one! We ' re still the one. Here we are, the total Riley High School of 1977-78— the one you ' ll remember through the years. We are a learning lab which stretches your mind, raises your con- sciousness, and develops your talents. We do it all for you, Mary Cerny, Ste- ven Smith, Lisa Kabel . . . We do it all for you, Eileen Doyle, all for you. We are your school, Brian Albright, David Filer, Andy Odell. See us waving to you from the Island Queen on the good ole St. Joe River? See us fixing your car in auto shop? And sliding into home base with the winning run? Remember the little creek that runs through the golf course next to the school? And the bust of James Whit comb Riley that has been watching Riley students in the library for 40 years? When you ' re planning your class reunion in 1988 (or ' 89 or ' 90) you ' ll open this special Hoosier Poet. Special because you are in it, and we, the stu- dents of Riley High School, are still the ones you want to see. JEFF PERCIFULL slides in as Tim Zultanski guards the base. SENIOR Tina Ward, top. Terri Fisher, above. Mr. Wally Gartee says, Terri is Miss Sunshine of the Human Resources Office. She ' s caretaker of both office and plants.

® Originality — that ' s what Riley is all about! What other school has a beautiful legs contest with Wildcat football players as contestants? While some schools have only gyms, Riley has the Woodard Memor- ial Gymnasium. Riley is a school that would be difficult to copy, and creative people are what make it that way. Mr. Wally Gartee, Riley ' s human re- lations director, is an example. Not many schools have a man like him around, always organizing a dozen different things at once. He is in charge of spirit week, pep break- fasts for winter sports teams and powderpuff football. Mr. Gartee ' s first floor office is full of plants, practically enough to start a green- house! I ' m not exactly sure how many plants I have, he says. There are at least 50. A few years ago a student told me that my office was too dull, so she brought me some plants. Since then my collection has grown. Students bring me plants and so do teachers. Before that I had never grown a plant, only watered them! Senior Scott McGirr said one of the first special things he noticed about the school was a bust of James Whitcomb Riley in the library. This statue has been watch- ing over classes and study halls in the library almost as long as Riley has been in existence.
