It ' s a feeling you ' ll never FEELING FREE . Riley generation! that ' s the MUD-CAKED SENIORS Patty Farmer, JonI Thornton, Jane Axelberg, Lisa Petzke, and Beth Gavin find that you ' ll have more fun in the mud. Psychologists say there ' s a little bit of child in all of us and it must be true. Why else do we build sand castles and window-shop for Christmas toys? Play- ing games like tag and hop-scotch bring back memories of a carefree part of our lives. Students play in the mud, letting the cold gooiness squish between their toes — perhaps because it reminds them of mud pies they so carefully molded. Every season offers its diversions — jumping into piles of leaves and carv- ing pumpkins in the fall; building snowmen, decorating the tree, and opening packages during the winter holidays; flying kites and looking for four-leaf clovers in the spring. Sum- mer brings water fights and fireworks. One senior admitted to playing on swings frequently last summer. Younger children often bring out our playful tendencies. Older brothers find themselves building towers of blocks with their smaller siblings. Babysitters sometimes find themselves coloring or watching cartoons with their charges. So, the next time you catch yourself licking the spoon after frosting the cake or reading a child ' s storybook, remember, it ' s all right to do these things; just be sure no one ' s looking! ■T ' ' ' ' S a siiJMHHBt ' !| -- 12 j k, jk i- . «v ■.. ■ ■ t ' l ' . im i: -i - 1 3 m f,{ ml if 7 ' ■ f .
