M TI-IEMATICS: UMBERS, FIGURES, AND DIAGRAMS The Mathematics Department at Riley has offered a variety of classes. The Algebra, High School Math, and Business Math courses have accumulated their share of freshmen. Geometry and its shapes have given students the perspective needed in math. The need to associate with other cultures has been met at Riley with four foreign language courses, French, Spanish, German, and Latin. By studying and analyzing word origins, Johnnie Rhea discovers that many words in English were derived from Latin. 9
