There is always a new horizon for onward looking men, and al- though we dwell on a small planet, immersed in petty business and not enduring beyond a brief period of years, we are so con- stituted that our hopes are inaccessible, like stars and the term of hoping is prolonged until the term of life. To be truly happy is a question of how we begin and not of how we end, of what we want and not of what we have. RGBERT LOUIS STEVENSON

Like the kaleidoscope, it has been di- vided into different segments reflecting the parts of English as a Whole. Some of the segments were Greek mythology, Composition, Shake- speare, and journalism. What's Happening, another course, was presented as a study of current events and trends in media. Struggle for justice and the Invisible Wall were studies of prejudices in America. The English Department also focused on the freshman with English l and college bound seniors with English 4.
