Class Prophecy I One bright sunny morning while we were on our houseparty atthe beaci . group of seniors were soaking up the sun. Since graduation was near, our fui I plans was, naturally, the major topic. The hum-drum of the voices was so sf .. ing, I dozed off to sleep. I must have started to dream because I was at our 1 I ' union in 1970 seeing all of my classmates. ' There was Ann Collins, Betty Ann Larkins, Marjorie Humphrey, and Judy Wallen talking inagroup. Ifound out Ann is still working in one of the Greensboro hospitals, but will be giving up her head nurse role soon to become a supervisor. Betty Ann, after her three years as an Air Force Nurse decided to make ita career by marrying one of the twenty-year officers. Marjorie is still foot-loose and fancy free but never lacks for dates at the Naval Hospital where she works. Judy stays busy caring for her four sons. Russ is still in the Marines and they are expecting to be transferred anyday. By the way she turned out to be an ex- cellent housekeeper. I moved over to the next group where Frances Hardison, Sue Rivenbark, Kathy Heath, and Pat Cox were busily chatting. Sue's name has been changed now and she and her husband are living in the western part of the state where she is working as an office nurse for aurologist. She always did like that field of medicine. Kathy is working in an old people's home where she is making new friends every day with her friendly personality. Kathy was partial to old people during our training days. Frances is still working at James Walker Hospital in the operating room, scrubbing for her favorite doctors. There are rumors around she's going to be supervisor up there. Pat is working down in Loris, S.C. as a part-time office nurse plus her house wife duties. Why there is Martha Hargett, Ann Hobbs, and Shirley Duncan. Martha is helping Charles in his business besides keeping their trailer spic and span--or rather it is the long, long trailer now that they have six children. Ann devotes her spare time to the local orphanage in their town. She's helping the polio vic- tims to walk again. That's like Ann, always willing to help. Shirley keeps busy following her paratrooper husband all over the United States. Seems they are ex- pecting again soon. Then I spied Nancy Jarman and Bessie Cooper. As usual Bessie was talking a mile a minute. It happened to be about a single doctor that is out of this world! She met him at the Air Force Base Hospital in Goldsboro where she is working. Seems Nancy knows him. Her husband and he graduated at the same medical school. Nancy works as her husband's office nurse when business is rushed. Dora Salter and Carole Dusenbury were exchanging gossip tid-bits. I could hear that Hi-Tider accent above every one else. Seems Carole is living the Life of Riley besides receiving many compliments on her triplet daughters' original outfits she designs and makes herself. Dora is the college nurse at the same allege where Thomas coaches. She also has her hands full with her new twins. Why there's Linda Darden coming toward me. She stays busy with her five Now Charlie has a basketball team of his own to coach. I can hear her ti--Sandra--I suddenly woke up and I realized where I was - at the beach Li., id the tide was almost at my feet. Maybe its a good thing I awakened be- fO1 -amed what I would low doing ten years from now. Sandra Grice Class Prophet . w 1 ill I I LL.. j I 1 .. I, Q.. 1 xxx... H t ' . ff - ll ' 1 l n W. . -
