Q, It it .N The 1983 Varsity Volleyball tc proved to have a difficult season. The thusiasm and efforts of the girls ns dropped despite their 0-8 recrd. Pan the problem was that we got a late stary practicing and we only had a few van players returning from last year, sta coach Judy Perkins, Monroe's newestl dition to the athletic staff. Perkins said, next season we should be re tough, most of our players are returi and we'll have things together as a tea Team Captain Darla Houg commen we might not have done really well, we came close to winning a lot of games and we had fun. The Varsity te was led with exceptional performance: Linda Oda and Darla Houg. The Junior Varsity team had a slig better season with a l-7 record. This years Bee football team did not accomplish it's initial iectives due to inexperience, lack of practice time, opponents :h as Dorsey and Gardena and a disappointing start of 9-4. ter the beginning of the season, things began to pick up, but not time to save this stymied team. Leaving it with a 3-5 overall :ord for the season. Players such as Ninos Saroukhanioff, Paul ilsch, Joe Weaver and Clarence McDowell and an outstanding Fense helped to bring Monroe to 2nd place in the league with a E overall. With more practice time and more returners with their exper- ce next years Bee football season promises to be better. Vikings put a stop to Reseda's advancement.
