qctrme J Good things don 't last forever' '... Doctrine advisor Ber- nie Feuerman, after 18 years of hard work and dedication, has decided to leave the newspaper. Feuerman's professional expertise has molded many young journalists. Editor-in-Chief Peter Lee said, Mr. Feuerman is warm and caring, yet tough and demanding. He definitely knows his journalism, and Doctrine will never be the same without him . The Doctrine, being a weekly publication, is always hot off the press offering extensive insight on issues concerning stu- dents. lt contains thorough and up to date coverage of news and sports as well as staff editorials, opinion columns and feature articles. Doctrine staffers, although usually hard at work, do take time off once in a while for fun. Activities such as Scribe Scrambles, football games at the park and social sessions in the backroom help take their minds off weekly pressures. For the past few years the Doctrine has been excellent, and this year was no exception. Individual members of the staff placed well in city-wide competitions. Doctrine placed first in the Los Angeles city-wide on-the-spotjournalism write-off and for the past two years has won the mail in contest. The Monroe Doctrine is truly a top quality newspaper.
