By working in a system like that of our government, I came to better understand how a democracy functions. I also had a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions with girls from all over the state. Most important, I met many new friends with whom I experienced the beauty of grow- ing and thc joy of sharing. -- Lisa Stelck Boys' State was an unforgettable experience in practical politics and working with other people in your age group with similar interests. We spent a week in Sacramento learning and then putting into practice the principles of a Democratic society. Boys' State becomes a miniature coun- try, as we were free to make our own laws and had our own political parties. I really enjoyed my stay at Boys' State, I just wish more people could have the same experience. - Gary Netzley
