et's walk through the Marble Halls that serve as an overture to the real Monroe. And as we walk, let us take deep notice of the things we pass. We'll tiptoe past the principal's office and, gaining momentum, enter the auditorium, the Monroe Music Hall. We are awed by the harmonious pattern that is made by the lights dancing on the yawning stage. Then. out of nowhere, a bell rings and sends us clattering up the stairs to the classes, offices and gyms. Yes, and the gyms where the tempo of bouncing balls and the stamping of feet echo up to the rafters of the fifth floor lunchroom. Here, a type of iazz prevails resembling the beating of drums and the blowing of horns. But now, walking out of the lunchroom. the noise ends and these halls grow still.
