EDITORIAL This is goodbye. We sfand here on +he fhreshold of a new life-a far diflerenf life. We are leaving behind so much: more fhan can be replaced very quickly. We are leaving behind fhe warm, happy hours, minufes, fleefing seconds of our youfh. We are leaving behind so many wonderful memories. So many grand fimes are now only leff fo be seen in fhe mirror of refleciion. And evenfually even fhaf mirror will become farnished, foo. We musf recall again and again fhose gay, golden momenfs: recall fhem and be happy fhaf we were forfunafe in having such a fine Alma Mafer and equally superlafive faculfy fo help make our soiourn here fhe mosf pleasanf of experiences. The only hearfache is leaving if all. Buf as all good fhings do end, so does fhis. His only human for us fo fhink back fo our cozy, pleasanf afmosphere in Monroe, and fhen shudder and draw back when we fhink of fhe biffer realify fhaf awaifs us. Our fufures are so unpredicfable, so uncerfain. The world is seefhing wifh 'rhe heafed flames of baffles. and we are fhe dry fimber. Buf as American youfh is fickle, if is also pugnacious and arroganf. Nofhing can ever dim ifs eager zesf for fhe righ+ fhings in fhis world. lf we have fo pray for fhose fhings, we will: if we have fo Hghl for fhem, we will do fhaf also. We will never be safisfied wifh embroidered misery or camouflaged Tyranny. lf our enemies don'f know 'rhe sfuff of American youth. fhey are in for a rough lesson. Experience is a hard feacher. Today, we, fhe hope for fomorrow, look forward fo fhe fufure. lf looks bleak and dismal. Buf we know who blackened if, we know who is fo blame. Thaf only infensifies our burning desire fo liquidafe fhe filfhy evil fhaf confaminafes every moral virfue in fhe world foday. We are defermined +o finish our iob. We will finish if 'rriumphanfly wifh lhe blood and lhunder of our mighf. The road ahead is hard, and our fask is fremendous, buf we shall never cease sweafing, working or fighfing. We shall never sfop unfil every vesfige of deceif and barbarism is blasfed from fhe face of fhis earfh. Forfy-eighf sfars will slir us on, I3O millions will pray for us, and God will help us see if fhrough. II
