For we are abouT To enTer a grim world, and all The happy hours we spenT aT Monroe are remembered wiTh longing. We know ThaT graduaTion means The TerminaTion oT high school's ioys and The enTrance inTo a IiTe of sacriiice and economic sTruggIe. Some of us will deparT To insTiTuTions oT higher educaTion: oThers will become wage earners in a parTicuIar business or Trade. OThers will ioin our armed 'forces To TighT The Tyrannical enemies Threairening our precious Democracy. Many of us will venTure inTo This war-sTricIcen world and Tind ThaT Iife is even harder Than we Think. Some will Tind iT easier. BuT wiTh The proper degree oT ingenuiiy and iniTiaTive we should all be successTuI in whaTever branch oT endeavor we may choose. The Senior Class oT June I942 has gained a repuTaTion which, iT can be proud To know, is ouTsTanding in The hisTory oT our school. Though iT 'found iTseIT in The mosT perilous Times, The Senior Class remained high in spiriT, and iTs TaiTh, morale, and hope have seT a Tine example Tor oThers To Tollow.
