The affifude of confidence has been swepf away wifh sickening speed. We find ourselves on fhe very fhreshold of a war forn world, a world which has gone over fo fhe docfrine of mighf makes righf, a world where priceless masferpieces produced by fhis civilizafion are being desfroyed by bombs, a world in which human beings are forced fo flee underground like animals fo avoid fhe deafh from fhe skies, a world where a democrafic nafion is a novelfy. The Class of '4I fervenfly fhenks God for preserving fhe Unifed Sfafes as a democracy, where fhe people are guarded from fofalifarianism by a Consfifufion and a Bill of Righfs.
