Eighteen girls came out for the team and practiced after school from 3:00 until 5:30 every- day. Out of five games played, Monroe won three, this put them in state com competition against Catlin Gable. The teams wore blue shorts and light blue long- sleeved shirts. Most of the girls were new to the game but all did very well and four mem- bers of the team were chosen as all PIL All-Stars. They were Mary Shea, Eileen Cebula, jane Pumpi- tus and Tsarra Herrick. The Volleyball teams this year were coached by Ms. Cook and Mr. Scbnur. The freshmen and JV teams each had twelve players and the varsity had nine. The teams uniforms con- sisted of navy blue shorts, light blue tops and white socks with blue stripes. The teams practiced for two hours after school everyday. Monroe played about fifteen games during the season and the score was often close.
