Installation Rituals Many organizations set high standards for student participation. When students met the standards, they were charged to take an oath to uphold those ideas. The oath was sworn in all sincerity. The ritual made it solemn. The lighted candles. The pin or key. The presence of family and friends. The feeling of pride and as with all rituals, the ceremony was followed with joy and cele- bration and food.
