Students take over Congress Students at James Monroe High School had the power to make laws for six weeks during December and January. Senior Government classes participated in Mock Congress and learned the principles of Parliamentary Procedure and the steps a bill takes from its birth and introduction to (hopefully) growing up to be a law of the land. Senior legislators did everything from abolishing the electoral college to raising the speed limit to 90 mph to declaring war on Iran. BERN MAHON explains his points. Mock Congress 29
