many times, it really wasn ' t that bad; working on the an¬ nual staff did have its lighter moments, there was the time we lost half the junior class pictures, and the creative idea of put¬ ting the freshmen names upside down, (we rejected that one on the basis of cruel and unusual punishment!) we thought about putting the ads first and the teachers last, but decided we had better keep the humor in the front of the book! once we discovered that we had two page 154 ' s, and then we found out that we had forgotten to leave any room for the cheerleaders, (we did man¬ age to squeeze them in somehow.) of course we did do some serious work — as little as possible, (if we had only been paid by the hour!) most important, though, is that we got the thing (annual) done and we hope you enjoy it as the rich memento of one of the best years of your life, right!?! ! if we leave out the cheerleaders we ll have room for the senior superlatives. editors bev haney, editor-in-chief raylene decatur becky klein susan scaife susan jones business roger poindexter, business manager michael perry lynn hamner jean chamberlain carmond decatur edith isgrig ruthan o ' toole cindy graves nicky whittaker jo ann wheeler typists marcia mastin joe o ' connor annette o ' connor mrs. o ' connor bev haney photography simon grey david dawson ross blum earle copp debbie durrett ruthan o ' toole art barbara thomas, editor johnny johnson kate norfleet becky klein susan scaife raylene decatur and the spotlight a special thanks to mr. price raylene, can ' t you keep this ! ! box neat! what do you mean half the juniors are missing!!! 9 earle m. copp III william j. cox jr. 73 73 73 73 v. wendall principal — assistant 11 12 Janice e. davis pamela j. davis david w. dawson mrs. mary pstts math 9 introduction to algebra geometry billy g. nichols trigonometry — analytical geometry geometry o. dale saylor algebra I math 9 physics mrs. lucille cralle algebra 1 algebra II math 9 glenn m. tanner algebra II — trigonometry advanced math algebra I kim r. decatur charles 1. dickinson joanie 1. dickinson 14 Frances 1. armstrong american history carl m. hellwig biology 16 janet 1. gregory c. martin grenn, jr. leonard griffin bonita f. habron beverly j. haney dean r. harding 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 7 robert burch english mary Virginia moran english lethia turner english 20 julian t. harrell, jr. dot w. hart James b. hearn, jr. 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 ZA frederick c. landis english latin elizabeth 1. myers french kelley sallette Spanish carolyn r. landis Spanish 22 paul w. higgs pamela r. hitt gregory s. hooe 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 jake a. maynard ict rubie lee johnson stenography II clerk typing bonnie w. stone distributive education 23 73 24 26 jenniene leonarkis william d. liddle, III martha jo lippincott 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 lloyd 1. gibson, jr. physical education ■ i emily seyfried physical education paul r. neal physical education dennis d. locklin jeffrey lopomo debra 1. lumpkin 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 73 vMizsy Pi i j 1 ka tmmuri EVa ■yi mm school board — philip heim; elnora Johnson; martha roberts; gordon hearne. not pictured: gilbert coleman; ed allison; ray- mond snead, superintendent. mrs. doris n. rutherford — librarian. mrs. nancy bird — librarian. 28 nn james g. lumpkin, jr. russell a. marsh . , . ££ j alma g. williams — study hall supervisor.
