We, as members of a fine Trojan family, have shared many rewarding experiences during this year, and at this time would like to renew some of them, Our experiences here will never be forgotten, but will serve as a golden momentium in the mist of our minds. It would be impossible for us to share even one-third of the events we have encountered here as students, but we feel that it will be inspiring for you to share a glimpse of this botmtiful year. So by way of pictures, words, symbols, and ex- pressions, we fling back the door and invite you in as we renew the happiest days of our lives. The senior class of 1971 hopes that we have not only been recipients of what Madison has to offer, but that' during our stay here we have given something to the school, which will leave a lasting imprint in the sands of time. Therefore, we feel that you deserve no less than a special salute in ap- preciation to your many hours of devotion in counseling and understanding. To Mr. McQuirter, whom we feel is one of the finest and most understanding principals in the world, we say thank-you, for you have passed the test of achievement with flying colors. You came to us as just another additive, due to the many changes bestowed upon us. Now we see you not as a new face, but as an honorable symbol of outstanding leadership. Due to the fact that you have a warm heart filled with love for all of us, we the student body feel that you are out Big Daddy, for no other person other than our own parents would extend love in all directions as you have done in this past year Therefore ou deserve no less than our love in . , y return. Again to you, we extend our deepest appreciation and lots of love, for you are truly a man of greatness. To Mr. Bowens, we also extend a special thanks, for your willing cooperation. For two long years you've bared with us through difficult times. You've grieved with us when grief was due. You were happy with us in times of joy. When we were sad, this you did employ. There fore, we the student body of the Trojan family say thank-you for your true devotion. Mr. Clark, you are a new member of our family. Although, this is true we want you to know that we have accepted you with gladness into our family. You are a person of great po- tentials and you have placed-yourself among us with true dignity. Through this past year, you have showed outstanding leadership ability and trust in us the student body. To you Mr. Clark, we say we1come, we're glad to have you aboard. Counseling is a very dificult job, especially true here in our school where you have so many diffirent personalities and interest. To Mrs, Hillard, Mrs, Penn, Mrs, Henry and Mrs. -Brown, we extend a hearty thank-you in appreciation for your understanding and guidance. You had a job to do, and may we be the first to say thank-you for a job well done. Our years at James Madison, haven't been altogether flawless, but they have been our most productive years in school, While walking through these glorious halls we've progressed in knowledge, courage, achievement, and leadership. We are truly grateful to everyone who has in some way or another helped us to better our character and our overall look on life. We are especially grateful to our parents, because they have been the everlasting force pushing during these years. Another special thanks goes to our senior sponsors: Mrs. Berry, Mrs. Garcia, Miss Wallace, Miss Mable Brown, Mr. Tarrant, Mr. Atkins, Mr. Sherman, Mrs. White, Mrs. Sims, Mrs. C. Williams, Mrs. B. Davis and Mr. Payton. We would al- so like to extend a special appreciation to Mrs. C. Davis with all our love, for the help she's given us through the years. To Mrs. Mingo and Mrs. I. Brashear we also say thank-you, for these persons have been a major factor whenever we've tended to stray from the right path, Although in the eyes of others our achievements may not num ber many nor may they mean much, they held a great value to us, No one can measure the amount of success of any one person because no one knows to what ex- tent they had to go in order to reach their success. We knew we had to overcome many adversities in order to reach a small degree of success and that's why we hold so much value to it. Being a member of the Trojan family has placed a warm feeling in the hearts of all of us. It is because of this sense of belonging that we are like a small child reluctant to leave home for the very first time, for surely this is the way it is. James Madison is truly our second home. We look at our principal as being a father and our teachers as being a mother, giving their endless devoted hours into guiding her children in the path of right, in insurance of a bright future. As a last and final statement, when we turn to look at this tall red brick building for the last time, we'll say good-bye good friend, and thanks for everything.
