Dcdicafivn Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works. With love, affection, and humility in our hearts, we, the senior class of Nineteen Hundred and Seventy, dedicate this edition of The Archives to Mrs. Virginia O. Stradford. Her patience, understanding, devotion, and kind words has helped us along the way. An outstanding, woman, a dedicated teacher, an inspirational leader, she has shared with those of us who sought her words of advice and encouragement many precious jewels that will help us to endure and prevail. We especially appreciate her years of dedicated and unselfish service to our class. She has instilled in us a passion for truth, knowledge, and an attitude to grapple with the challenge of the unpredictable. The Senior Class of 1970

Sifrewvrd LET SUCCESS BE OUR GOAL Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footsteps on the sands of time: - Footsteps, that perhaps another, Sailing o'er life's solemn main, A forlorn and shipwrecked brother, Seeing, shall take, heart again. Those words taken from Longfellow's poem A Psalm Of Life is the creed of success. In history the lives of great men inspire us to conquer the trials of life and catch the winds of destiny, to put meaning in life, because life without meaning is in vain. Day by day men struggle to fulfill their dreams. Dreams built upon human tears, suffering, and hope. Everyone wants success but sometimes, we are not willing to pay the price. Some men pay with their lives: but they have not died in vain. Their works still live within the hearts of men and their generations. We are a generation faced with opportunities. Let the theme of this book echo through- out the halls of time. And in the final analysis someone will remember the words: LET SUCCESS BE OUR GOAL The 1970 Senior Class
