Through The Years Through the years the Homecoming game and dance have followed the same proce- dures, displaying the floats, and announcing the queen, but this year it was kind of spe- cial. It was Madison's 25th Anniversary. Each year the football team aims high and hopes for a win and this year its goal was achieved, with a twenty-one to nineteen victory against the Serra High Conquistadors. It was a tough game, but we knew we'd come out on top, said Rich Tylski, a Madison football player. This years' nominees for Homecoming Queen were Shelly Lewis, Connie Porlas, Margaret Barton, Jill Newby, and Bridgette Burden. The fans, so enthused with Home- coming, could not stop cheering. During half-time, the queen, Connie Porlas, and the victorious junior float were announced. The junior float theme was Rock around the clock. After being crowned, Connie said I felt very happy and thought of all my fondest memories with my boyfriend, and the joy of everyone being here at Madison. This years' Homecoming was a success. Many of the alumni joined Madison's stu- dent body as they cheered on the victorious team. It was quite memoraible for the Madi- son Warhawks! Arm and arm with Ronnie Mendiola, Homecoming Queen.
