HONOR ENSEMBLE The Honor Ensemble is composed of eighteen dedicated, hard working members. They devote much of their time to public service activities and fund raising efforts and enjoy meeting people. They are commonly called the singing ambassadors because they perform before more than sixty San Diego audiences each year. The high standards which are set for membership add to the high quality which is brought forth in each performance. An enormous amount of extra time is required along with special talents. Although the quality of their perfor- mances are high, they ask for no set fees. Along with donations, members raise money through concerts and many odd jobs such as gardening, painting, car washes, and a parking lot sale. All their fund raising efforts are directed toward a concert tour of Hawaii. r i u i. 200 Organizations

The concert choir was very active in many functions both on-campus and off-campus. One of the most enjoyed performances was at Fashion Valley. The choir sang Christmas carols and participated in a tree decorating contest which brought them a first prize. Under the ex- cellent direction of Mr. Sloan, the group had many more achievements than in the past. One of the longest per- formances the group gave included eighteen different arrangements. Candy sales sponsored by the choir raised funds for a trip to Magic Mountain and the purchase of risers for the choral department. Organizations 199
