C.S.F. The California Scholarship Federation wasn't very active at Madison this year. With over fifty members it was hard to schedule meetings. One annual activity C.S.F. participates in is a visit to a nearby university. In the fall they went to U.S.C. This trip gave students a closer look at college. Madison's Girls' Athletic Association is responsible for spon- soring all girls' sports. The group also plans many social ac- tivities. which are open to all girls who have paid G.A.A. dues. Banquets, picnics, and camping trips are examples of func- tions that were planned. Through G.A.A.. Madison has shown that sports are more than hard work. 176 Organizations

MADLEENS One of the most dedicated and concerned service groups in our school is Madleens. This special group of girls asks for no recog- nition for the extra time and effort they take from their busy sched- ules to help the school and com- munity. The Madleens goal is to give help where it is needed. They gave a Halloween party to the handicapped children at Schwiet- zer School, gifts and time to local hospitals, and also ushered at many school functions. The money for all the activities came from funds raised at a rummage sale at Grants in the early fall. 178 Organizations
