SADIE HAWKINS Twerp-week is one of the highlights of second semester at Madison. The week is packed with activities: a crazy sock contest, a Mr. Legs competition, a pie-eating con- test. a slave sale, and Sadie Hawkins Day. On Sadie Haw- kins Day many students dressed in costumes. Some of the best costumes were found on slaves, who were auctioned off to students for up to $5.00. The money raised went to support Girls' League. Friday night the school sponsored a dance where students came dressed in costumes and danced to the music of Clean Slate. Marryin' Sam had couples, who wanted to get married, sign fake contracts which were good for that evening. All the farmers and country hicks came and had fun. 158 Student Life

Providing the music of Jethro Tull. Cat Stevens, and other popular artists, the A.F.S. sponsored an Oysterman concert in October. The talent of the group was displayed in the performance of many songs they had written and also the versions of some which they had not. Besides providing enjoyable rock music, the concert also gave its profits to sponsor our student exchange program. The concert proved to be one of the year's most well attended activities.
