A Time for. . . UNDERCLASS “Could you tell me where the 800 building is? Questions such as this were not uncommon in September as incoming sophomores got their bearings. The sophomores, newcomers to Madison, were unlike the other classes. Not only was the campus and faculty new to them, but they were new to each other. Drawn, for the most part, from two junior high schools, they were making new friends and in the process of sorting out new acquaintances. Juniors, on the other hand, were seasoned veterans - relieved to have the trials of the sophomore year be- hind them. Names of faculty, where to find a room, history of football scores were second nature to this class. The pace of study was picked up. Talented juniors, having “made varsity' became prominent in extra- curricular activities. Many were well known, for reasons diverse, to teach- ers, counselors, and fellow students. The juniors strove to be individuals during their year, yet they had one trait in common - they couldn't wail to be seniors.
