J.V. Wins Western League This season was indeed a successful one for the J.V. Football team. Under the leadership of Head Coach David Schuler and his assistants Dick Clem, Bob Moss and Dave Mills, the J.V. Gridders posted a 7-1-1 record and placed first in the Western League for the second year in a row. These fine players gained valuable ex- perience and a winning attitude. Madison Makes C.I.F For the first time in the school’s history, the Warhawk Footballers made it to the CIF Playoffs. But, unfortu- nately, they were paired against the county’s number one team, the St. Augustine Saints. Although the Hawks put forth a valiant effort, they were overwhelmed by the Saints' powerful forces, 38-7. The lone Madison touch- down was scored by Tualatai Sami, a converted line- backer, after a series of thrilling runs.
