Would you believe six straight wins? That's what happened this year as the Warhawk Footballers rolled through their most successful season ever. Led by the superb coaching of Jack Menotti and Bob Bishop, the Hawks displayed a potent offense and a league-leading defense. The offense, led by Quar- terback Lex Stoyanow, Receivers Bill Clark and Steve Watson, and Backs Gary Morlett and Dan Munoz, more than doubled last year’s scoring output. The powerful defense, led by Randy Evertson, Bill Sharman, Tualatai Sami, Joe Holden, and Alan Ratta. allowed an average of only ten points per game, one of the lowest in the county. This balanced attack led to a second place Western League Finish. ABOVE: FROM ROW-Vt Murray. J.Holden, B Sharman. A.Ratta, S.Wat- son. L.Stoyanow, T.Sami. B.CIark. R.Gamer. R.Evertson, C.Amaral. D. Training started early for track members as competitors conditioned through-out pre-season. Coached by Betty Bennett, the team was striving to uphold their position as all-city league champions for the third consectutivc year. Interscho- lastic badminton, coached by Toni Har- wood, and softball, headed by Bette Ar- dapple, not only taught team members the skills and techniques of their respective game, but provided valuable experience in the spirit of competion. Long hours of diligent practice went into the training of these teams, which proved to be tributes to the Girls' Athletics Association.
