Color Sparks Student Interest What is better than reading our new oj en editorial page and student opinions? The answer might be looking at the new color pictures that put our Talon newspaper far ahead of any other school. Steve Gonzales masterminded the camerawork which caused students to look forward to every issue of the Talon. Pictures weren’t the only thing that made our newspaper outstanding. Excellent copywriting super- vised by Steve Deal, editor, has kept everyone in- formed of student activities. This year has proven to be a prosperous one for the 1970-71 Talon staff. Debi l.illard. Mr. Newton. “When’s that deadline?” became a common phrase among yearbook staff members. The work began for some of the staff when last year’s annual was completed. The editorial board began to organize the new staff and plan the new format. Over the summer a workshop at UCSD and a course in photography at Busco- Nestor Studios sharpened skills of staff members. Many fresh ideas were incor- porated into this year's annual. Among them was the new cover design. Each member of the staff has worked hard in class and after school to produce an an- nual everyone can be proud of. Mr. New- ton aided whenever problems arose and discussed the deadline dates with great enthusiasm. OPPOSITE LEFT - Pam Wasilk receives sug- gestions on balancing her pages from Christine Yang.
